This camera died one month after the 3 month warranty expired. I called and e-mailed the company to see if they could help me diagnose the problem and get it fixed. Maybe I could purchase a new transmitter, if that was the problem. I've received no response. So, I'm left with this junk that I spent time and money to install. Even had to modify the cheap camera base and drill into my truck's console, and now it appears I have no recourse but to throw it all away. This certainly wasn't worth all the aggravation, and I would suggest you buy from a more responsible manufacturer.

Item has a low radio frequency. transmitter cannot transmit over about 6 feet if it must go through parts of the car to get to the monitor inside. We placed it on a work truck and the transmitter has alot of issues trying to get the picture.

By BELIEVER IN REVIEWS
I received the unit as a gift, that I requested, and installed it in a reasonable time frame. Had no problems, and it works perfect. The monitor has good resolution, and a very clear picture. I made a couple of modifications to the instructions. I mounted the monitor on my ash tray which is never used. I drilled the little plastic pin out that holds the plastic suction cup. I was left with the shell which I drilled two holes for two small screws and attached it to the ash tray. You still have all the adjustment you need to move the monitor to your likeing. This made the wiring simple. Plug one end into the lighter, fold the wires neatly, stick them in the ash tray, close and insert the other end into the monitor. Attached to the ash tray, it is hidden from sight, and not mistaken for a GPS if stuck to the window as sold. I have a 2003 Tundra with a Leer camper shell. I used velcro on the transmitter and stuck it on the wall of the shell. Really grabs tight! Fired it up the first time, and had to move the transmitter a little higher than first attached, and it was perfect. Don't see how you can go wrong with the unit. It is even perfect at night.
